Jewish International Summit for Teens (JIST)
January 6 @ 9:00 am - January 13 @ 10:00 am
My name is Barbara Boyette, and I am the Director of Admissions at the American Hebrew Academy, the only international, Jewishly diverse, college-prep boarding high school in the world. I am writing to let you know about an exciting experience you will not want to miss!
For the first time, we are hosting the Jewish International Summit for Teens (JIST) at the American Hebrew Academy from January 6 – 13, 2019. The theme for the summit is Tikkun Olam Hackathon: Designing Jewish Responses to Social Problems.
Introducing the first annual Jewish International Summit for Teens (JIST)
January 6 – 13, 2019 (no earlier or later)
Schools may bring of no more than 10 students and 1 chaperone.
Pricing: $75 per student per day and $100 student activity fee per student; chaperone free
Students will work in small groups, with faculty and students from all over the world, to design a response to a social problem of their choosing (we will give them 4-5 to choose from). They will present their ideas on the Friday afternoon of that week. We will have major speakers, an a Capella group here for Shabbat, and a teen party with music and dancing on January 12th.
This is a rich, well-developed program to give your students a true international and educational opportunity. I hope you will plan on joining us.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions. A school registration form can be found on our website.
I hope to see you soon!
